Teaching Every Student

The UDL (Universal Design for Learning) principles assist teachers in reaching the students' individual differences in the three brain networks. A curriculum that has been universally designed provides learners with different methods to: receive information and knowledge, express themselves, show what they know, keep them engaged, challenge them, and motivate them. Teachers must make learning individualized by using appropriate tools, teaching strategies, and assessments. Another website that would be helpful for UDL in the classroom is, Teaching Every Student (TES) from the cast website. On this page of Cast, teachers are provided resources which help build goals for lessons, and even lesson plans that follow the UDL model. When using UDL in our lessons, we are preparing for different kinds of learners and striving to reach each student with teaching techniques that keep the student engaged, focused, and driven to be successful in the classroom.
