Students who are hard of hearing often have trouble following lectures, especially if the acoustics of the room are poor or if the teacher speaks quietly, quickly, or unclearly. Also, teachers frequently move around the room while teaching. When the teacher turns his or her back to the students, a student who is lip reading can no longer follow along. Students who are hard of hearing also have problems with class discussions and video presentations.
